 Fons de Poel (1955) has been amongst the top Dutch television journalists for years now. He started his career as a writing reporter for the daily regional newspaper "De Gelderlander".
In 1982 he started working for KRO television as an international correspondent for a newsbroadcast called "Brandpunt". For this programme, Fons travelled all newsarea's of the world.
In the early nineties he became chief editor for Brandpunt and started "Reproter", a programme distinguishing itself with newsworthy research journalism. After this feat, Fons was one of the initiators of and chief editor for the newsbroadcast "Netwerk", which is a very succesfull collaboration between all newsbroadcasts on station "Netherlands 1" Momentarily he is anchorman for Netwerk.
