The house building sector is still responsible for the major part of CO2 emissions and energy use. In order to meet the Kyoto targets a full transition should be realized in the way we build and live. The taskforce ‘Sustainable development in the manufacturing of houses’ researches how to do this. They cooperate with the Technical University of Delft, University of Maastricht and the institute for applied technical research (‘TNO’). The question focussed upon is: how to synchronize the qualities of the various types of energy offered and demanded in the housing domain optimally. Chairman Hiddes of the taskforce presents the findings in this workshop.
